Our Name: Willow Creek Community Church What is in the Name? The Church gets it's Name from the place I stayed in in Little Falls, Roodepoort, where I proposed to our community whatsapp group that I would like to start a prayer group with like minded people. Our estate is called Willow Creek Estate. From there, I registered a not-for-profit organization called Willow Creek Community Church. Willow is the tree that grows by the river and is always green. It is the same tree you find in Psalm One. Creek is the name of a small river. So the name Willow Creek made sense to keep, because the river and a tree that grows by a river are biblical phenomenon. We also want to create a community of believers. This is how the name Willow Creek Community Church came about. .
